6-25-11 4th of July Celebrations

Our neighborhood had a cookout at the elementary school, and each family was supposed to bring something to share.  Sadie and I made red sugar cookies with sprinkles.

 Dash had a great time crawling around on the lawn in front of the HUGE bounce house. 
We met our neighbors there and Dash played with Luca (who is 1 month older), while Sadie payed with Dominic (who is 1 week younger).

Sadie got her face painted with pretty flowers and we waited in line for a long time for a pink elephant balloon from the balloon lady.

The fire trucks were there and kids got to go sit inside.

(Either that, Or we have been watching way too many History Channel documentaries about Tienanmen Square.)

 Sadie is almost as big as the tire - these trucks are huge!

After the Brookside Picnic, we headed up to Powell for their celebration.  Paw Paw and Grandma rode the Trike to meet us.  (For an interesting story, ask them about the trip home.)

 We played games, bounced in the free bounce houses, and sat to listen to a classic rock band before the fireworks show.  Kids were throwing around these enormous beach balls.  One little boy (about 9 or 10) saw that Sadie was having trouble getting a turn with the other older kids, so he gave her his ball and said she could keep it.  What a nice kid!

This is the first fireworks show that Sadie has ever seen.  Most of the time we are in Michigan for the 4th of July, and we see a few fantastic fireworks set off by Uncle Larry.

During the show Sadie kept turning around to tell us about the fireworks.  We had our own little narrator who knew nothing about what she was narrating.  We kept saying "Watch the show.  Turn around. etc..."  She said she loved, loved, loved it.

 

Sadie has recently been giving very strange crazy-looking smiles when I want to take her picture.  Check out this genuine grin thanks to the delicious funnel cake.

They also threw t-shirts into the audience and one rolled right to Sadie.  It was a Kids' large, so not way too big.  It will make a good night shirt.

6-23-2011 Mommy's high school friends

Mommy's high school friend, Beth, came to visit from Japan.  A bunch of girls from high school met in Columbus for lunch.  It has been a long time since Mommy has seen these girls, but everyone looks pretty much the same.

Puppies are pretty cute, but they can also be terrifying.

6-14-2011 The Turners visit from SC

The Turners came to Ohio for a visit in June and we went to the zoo.

June had a bandage on the same finger on both hands from two different doors.

He has a pretty hungry look in his eyes.

The zoo wore the kids out and all 5 took really good naps.

It was a beautiful day outside so we all went out front while the Uncle Brandon and Daddy played basketball. (Mommy, Jill and Paw Paw joined in later.)

Sadie and Henry commented on the spectacular shooting.

What a couple of pretty little girls - wait a minute...

Aunt Becky found these two matching outfits that Sadie and June wore.  She thought it would be funny to see the youngest Turners dressed up. 

(We'll hold on to this picture for future Dash embarrassment.)

Here are Henry, Sadie, and June (circa August 2008)  Henry barely sat still enough to snap any pictures - luckily June and Sadie were not crawling yet.  (Henry 2.5?, Sadie 9 months, June 6 months)

The newest Turners don't look anything like the first version. 

(Dash has way more hair than Sadie did and may actually be a prettier girl at 9 months.)

Grandma's neighbor got anew beagle puppy and the kids had a lot of fun playing with her.

6-7-2011 Coopers' backyard

Dash is old enough for the swing (and Sadie loves to have permission to push him).

6-6-2011 The Clipper's game

We got dressed up in our Red/Blue Clippers/Indian's gear and headed down to the ballpark because it was a beautiful afternoon. 

As it turns out, the kids aren't quite ready to sit through a baseball game.

Dasher hung out in his stroller and was pretty good, until he got hungry.

Sadie could not sit still.  Her back was to the game the entire time.  She talked to us and liked the food and music.  On the way home, we asked about the game and from her answers, we don't even think she knew that there was a baseball game going on.

6-6-2011 Meeting in Mansfield

We met in Mansfield for PaPa's birthday.

Sadie thought these flowers were really cool.

 The ducks loved to be fed  - and they were so beautiful.



There was even a peacock that would eat from your hand.

Uncle Mike and Aunt Molly joined us at the park.

The water fountain was lots of fun and if you got too close, you got sprayed.
